Contests & Awards

Sometime in 2011 I discovered flash fiction... also known as microfiction, it's the art of telling a tale in barely any words.  It's been good practice for me - how to capture all the senses in as few a words as possible.  How to make sentences more succinct without losing their flavour or meaning.

Here are a few that I've won:

SatSunTails Repeat Winner!

Tuesday Tales Repeat Winner

Menage Monday Winner

I've been featured in National Flash Fiction Day's Flash Flood journal and recognised in Anna Meade's #Faerypin contest  and Ruth Long's Poem Walk contest.

I've also dipped my toe in the water of Romance Writer's of America Chapter Contests.  I entered the Catherine (RWA Toronto's Chapter Contest) and was thrilled to finish as a finalist in the Historical Romance category for Merely Players.

Of course, there have other less successful ventures into the land of contests... but we won't dwell on that here!

And of course it's always nice for your blog to receive some recognition too! I've won the Liebster Award and the Versatile Blogger award thanks to some lovely votes from my mentors and magicians.
