Soul Mates is a Finalist!

I'm thrilled that Soul Mates is a finalist in the Romance Writers of America Southern Magic Linda Howard Award of Excellence contest (Paranormal, Futuristic, Fantasy category).

This is the second time I've been a finalist for the Linda Howard Award - the first was with Boundless as the Sea

I'm thrilled that this caps what has been a super productive summer so far...

1) Completing Soul Mates, getting a synopsis and a query letter together and actually putting myself out there.

2) Getting a new website together as a statement of intent!

3) Completely revising Merely Players - which I completed originally in 2011. The original version was a finalist for RWA's The Catherine award, and I'm hoping that the revised manuscript is much improved. So I've submitted that to a contest too!

4) And reading lots of books - fact and fiction - to hone my practice and oil the creative wheels. The one pictured above (reflecting the glorious sunshine of Rhodes island, Greece), Self Editing for Fiction Writers is really clear and practical - highly recommended.

I'm pretty knackered at the end of all that - on top of a full time job - but the email from the lovely Jill at the Linda Howard Award just made it all worthwhile!
